One of my favorite holidays is Valentines day. I love to decorate with all the pinks, reds and heart shaped accents. I’m not gonna lie but I think a major part of my love for Valentines day has to be all the chocolate I can eat! Every year I try to come up with at least one Valentines idea for my daughter to hand out to her friends. These “Carry my Heart with you..” color block earring cards turned out so cute! I wanted to create a special gift that not only they could keep but also wear. I have totally been crushing on different shades of pink and my love for color blocking is still going strong, so the design for these was no surprise. Possibilities are endless but you could use any color combo, design and charm to create your own Valentine. The best part of this idea is that your kids can help you paint them and put them together, girl time!. I have attached the free printable design so all you have to do is attach them to your card and your ready to go. I even went as far as using my Silhouette Cameo 3 to cut out the cutest little heart openings to attach the heart earrings. I really don’t know what I would do without my Silhouette, it is truly one of my go to crafting must haves.

- Gold Earring – Hobby Lobby
- Silhouette Cameo 3 – Silhouette
- Gold Heart Shaped Charms – Joann
- Valentines Card Design – Download
- Drill and a 1/2 inch Drill bit
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Crimper Pliers
- Painters Tape
- Small Paint Brush
Begin by placing a pencil mark on the top center of your heart shape and drill a 1/2 inch hole. At this point you will do the same to the bottom center of your heart shape.
Once you have drilled your hole you will want to choose your paint colors. I decided to paint mine pink on pink, now you can tape them in any colorblock design. I gave mine about 3 coats of paint and let them dry.
Once dry you can remove the tape and attach your gold hooks and heart charm and your all set.
Now you are ready to download and print your cards. I used my Silhouette to print and cut my cards as I wanted to have little heart openings to hold the earrings. You can also just print them and cute out the cards by hand and use a hole punch or small heart punch.
Now you have a great set of heart earrings just in time for Valentines Day!
