This is part two of a three part series just in time for Easter. I hope you enjoyed our DIY Mini Easter Cards we shared a few days ago. When I came across these cute little Bunnies I knew exactly what I wanted to use them for. How adorable are these cute little bunnies. These DIY Easter Candy Treats would be great for gift baskets, school parties, special treats or a fun craft! I came up with two options to chose from. One more of your modern tin and the other a more subtle neutral feel.
These are just so cute! One of the best parts is that you can customize them by just adding trim to the lids, adding stickers or glitter, painting them in an abstract design and adding your kids name. I wanted a multi color design for the paper mache and solid pastel colors for the tin ones. Then you get to add the Easter candy which is the best part in my opinion.
- Paper Mache - Mini Oval Boxes - Hobby Lobby
- Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint - Michaels
- Bunny Stickers - Hobby Lobby
- Round Tins - Michaels
- Spray Paint
- Painters Tape
- Foam Brushes
Begin by selecting what spray paint colors you would like to use for the tins.
Grab your painters tape and tape off the inside of your tin and remove the clear plastic cover before painting.
Then place your tin in a well ventilated space with a cardboard or drop cloth to paint. I went outside with mine and did two coats. You will then want to remove the tape while the paint is still wet and let dry.
Once you are done with the tins set them aside and grab your paper mache oval boxes. Since I kept my lid neutral I began by painting the bottom outside of the box. I did two coats. Let dry.
Now you are ready to add the sticker bunny to the lids of your candy containers. Just remove the sticker backing and place them on the top center.
Just add candy of your choice and your all set.
I just love how cute these turned out! Please tag me and share if you end up making these.
