Mini DIY Memo Place setting

Mini DIY Memo Place setting

This is part one of a collection of three table setting DIY posts that I can't wait to share with you all! Around this time a year we host a lot of special get togethers and the holidays are just around the corner. One of my favorite things is to come up with new ideas for table place settings. I find it fun for our guest to find their place at the table and tell a little story about the theme of the day. Now we all know how much this girl loves her memo boards so it was no surprise when I decided to make mini memo board place settings for a fun get together. The best part of this DIY is that you can use them for any occasion and any color combo. I even made a set of six, where I used brown frames with a navy and mustard colored felt for more of a fall table setting and gifted them to our new neighbors that just moved it. They loved the unique gift idea! I hope you like these as much as I do! It definitely helps with table presentation. IMG_0295 IMG_0302

  • Felt ( I went with two different colors) - (Joann's)
  • Small Frames - (Target)
  • Hot Glue Gun - (Amazon)
  • Metal Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Corrugated Cardboard - (Staples)

Begin by measuring the inside of your frame to ensure your corrugated cardboard will fit in place. I decided to use the cardboard that came inside the frame as my guide. Once you have measured cut your corrugated cardboard. Then cut a larger size of your felt material. You will want that to be larger as you will want to hot glue the felt in-between the groves of the board so it will require more material then the actual size. Start at the top of your board with a line of hot glue. you will need to work fast as the glue will harden and not adhered to the felt. I used a metal ruler to push the felt into the grooves to ensure it was a secure hold. At this point you can cut the access felt material and place your felt board into your frame. Place the backing of your frame back in place to secure and use. At this point you are ready to add your guests name or short saying for your table setting. How fun are these!
