I love to host little get together’s with family and friends! The holiday season can get crazy busy, so I like to keep things pretty simple and fun! Once I spotted the “MERRY & BRIGHT” collection by Daydream Society, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I headed over to Sweetsindeed for a blend that would bring everything together. I decided to go with the Sugarplum Fairy blend. The colors coordinated nicely.
First, I went to my local grocery store where I found the cutest holiday pretzels that I planned to dip in chocolate and sprinkle my Sugarplum Fairy Candyfetti on top. You can never go wrong with chocolate covered pretzels, even better when they are in fun shapes. I wanted to create a patter that the kids could nibble on with frosting and sprinkles so that they could dip there favorite treats in. Then I decided to make a little village for the center piece with these triangle shaped houses I found at Michaels in their dollar spot, bonus. As soon as I got home, I started to paint one side of the little houses in colors to match my party ware. I decided to leave the other side in the natural wood so I could use them in different combinations. I then proceeded to the Silhouette Design Store to look for some village designs that would work well with my house shapes. Once I made my selection I used white vinyl to make the village scene. This way If I ever wanted to change them to something else I could by simply removing the vinyl! You all know how much I LOVE my Silhouette Cameo 3! Now you can have a colorful village on one side and a neutral one on the other. The very best part you can mix and match the houses and sides. You can use these as centerpieces, on a mantel, in a child’s room, the possibilities are truly endless. I even made a set for my friend as a hosting gift!

I purchased 3 wooden houses.
I then slightly sanded them, taped off the edges around the houses and painted them each with two coats of paint. I left the other side in natural wood.
You will want to set them aside to dry.
Now for the village designs. You will begin by opening your Designs #17595 & #17596 in Silhouette Studio located in your Library.
Purchase and download your design.
Once you have done that open up your designs in your design window.
You will want to measure and adjust the size of your village to have it off set in the middle of each house shape.
Then you will send to your design to print and cut window.
Now you will want to send your design to cut.
Next you will want to load your vinyl into your silhouette and select the proper cut settings.
Once your files have been cut unload your design and weed it.
You will now want to place your transfer paper on top of each design and apply them carefully to your fully dried houses one at a time. This way you can see if you like the placement since you will be displaying them.
Now you are all set to enjoy your Merry & Bright little village with Sugarplum Fairy Candyfetti!
