As some of you may know I have a serious “CANDY” obsession! I remember going to the candy shop with my mom and standing there trying to decide what I wanted. Now with the candy boards you can “HAVE IT ALL“! LOL Even though I have been doing Candy Boards for a while behind the scenes for family and friends, this is the first time I have shared one here on the blog. This candy board is not your typical board and I’m beyond excited at how it turned out! I wanted to have a theme and a fun take on Halloween. Once I saw the “SPOOKY” collection by Daydream Society. I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I quickly enlisted the help of my friends over at Sweetsindeed for a blend that would bring it all together. I had a hard time not eating the entire bag of Glam Candyfetti blend before sprinkling them onto my cupcakes. I also decided to include a little fun message on the board with vinyl for all to see. This way I could remove it after the party and use it again and again! Like I’ve said before my Silhouette Cameo 3 is one of my favorite go to tools for any party! One of my absolute favorite accounts to follow for her amazing boards is @Ainttooproudtomeg.

Make sure to be on the look out for a few fun ideas for Candy Boards coming on the blog soon!

Tutorial:

I purchased a large piece of MDF board and had it cut to 12″ x 24′”.

Once I brought it home I drilled holes to place my handles on, I wanted to make sure of correct placement.

I then slightly sanded it, primed it, taped off my design and painted it with two coats of paint. I went with a color block design for my tray since I wanted it to stand out.

Once fully dried I put the handles on and set aside.

Now for the tray design. You will begin by opening your Design #212971 in Silhouette Studio located in your Library.

Purchase and download your design.

Once you have done that open up your designs in your design window.

You will want to adjust the size of your ghosty and type out the text to ensure size and design look you want.

Then you will send to your design to print and cut window.

Now you will want to send your design to cut.

Next you will want to load your vinyl into your silhouette and select the proper cut settings. You will need to do this 2 times with your different color vinyl since the ghost and text are in different colors and cut separately.

Once your files have been cut unload your design and weed it.

You will now want to place your transfer paper on top of each design and apply them carefully to your candy board one at a time. This way you can see if you like the placement since you will be displaying it with candy.

Now you can start placing all your goodies and candy on your board and enjoy!
